John M. Krieg, Senior Fellow of the Fraser Institute, is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at Western Washington University. Prior to joining the faculty at Western Washington University, Professor Krieg served as a professor at the United States Naval Academy. He has also served as a visiting scholar at Aalto University in Finland. Professor Krieg studies the economics of education with particular interest in teacher training and its role in student outcomes and the teacher labor market. His academic research has appeared in over 15 different academic journals including Economic Inquiry, the American Education Research Journal, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, and Contemporary Economic Policy. He earned his B.A. in economics from Northwestern University and his M.A. and PhD. in economics from the University of Oregon.
